How to watch colonial shooting academies in a few minutes
By now you’ve seen this: The Fox News Channel’s Digital Academy will premiere a new series about the digital academy in October.
It’s the first of several digital-centric shows that will air in the fall, including “Podcasts for Parents,” which explores topics like “learning with technology” and “learning to make things,” and “Daring to Change: How Digital Media Can Transform Your Life.”
The digital academy is an offshoot of the National Digital Academy, a nonprofit that teaches students about the importance of technology and how it’s transforming the way we learn.
Digital Academy was founded in 2017 by two friends who wanted to use their passions for learning to help students learn to make something with technology.
The idea is that digital literacy and technology literacy will help students improve in a way that’s both accessible and helpful to them.
“We have to teach the young generation to understand the world and not be afraid to use technology,” cofounder Jodi M. Sorenson told me at the time.
“The digital age is changing how they understand the way they can live their lives.”
Sorenson and her partner, Kristina Kuzmin, founded Digital Academy in the summer of 2018, after learning that their daughter was struggling with learning disabilities and wanted to help her learn to code.
They had heard about an organization called the National Center for Digital Literacy and were looking to create a digital library of resources that would help people who struggle with learning with technology learn.
“I knew that we needed a digital academy that would be accessible to young people, and also that the people in charge would know what to teach,” Soreness said.
“We knew that technology is going to be so pervasive and pervasive in our lives, that it’s going to change everything.
We also knew that the digital world is changing so quickly that it would be very difficult to teach these young people in an environment that was constantly changing.”
That environment has always been changing: The number of people in America who are living with disabilities has increased dramatically in the past few decades, and the number of Americans with disabilities who have been diagnosed with a disability has more than tripled in the last decade.
But there’s still a long way to go to ensure that young people are equipped to deal with the changing technology landscape.
Digital Academy is currently a pilot program, and Sorenss says that they’re hoping to expand it to more schools and institutions over the coming months.
The goal is to bring the program to as many schools as possible, and to see if they’ll accept the show as a part of their curriculum.
But even if they do, the focus of the program is still the digital education experience: the digital tools that people use to learn to write, edit, and code.
“Digital literacy is an incredible opportunity to give kids access to the world that they would otherwise not be able to access,” Kuzmins told me.
“In the digital space, technology is an amazing way to change how we work, how we think, and how we communicate.
We’re really focusing on digital literacy to help young people understand the technology that they use.”
Sorenson hopes that Digital Academy can be a part to change that.
“I really think that digital learning and technology are one of the things that is going in the right direction,” she said.
“You’re really changing the way you learn in your own life,” Sorensons cofounder and director of digital literacy programs, Kuzms said.
“[Digital] literacy is so critical to being a young person.
I think that there are so many ways that young folks can learn with technology that are accessible to them and are useful to them, but they’re not taught by someone like us.”
