NFL: Eagles could add QB to coaching staff

The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing to add a head coach to their coaching staff after firing Jim Schwartz.

The team will have three vacancies on the staff.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said he will make the announcement today.

Sources tell me Schwartz will be the new head coach.

Roseman said on Monday that the Eagles are “very interested in” hiring a new head football coach.

He did not name the candidate, and sources said it was likely Schwartz.

It is unclear if Schwartz is seeking the head coaching job.

Schwartz has been the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach since 2008.

Schwartz led the Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance in 2012.
