Georgia Cyber Academy to Open in Atlanta
Atlanta — Georgia Cyber Academies is now officially a reality thanks to the launch of its inaugural campus in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Georgia Cyber Institute will now open its new campus in a new building that has been transformed into an arena for its events.
Georgia Cyber is a program that empowers young people in Georgia to get the most out of technology and connect with their peers in their community through a variety of experiential learning opportunities, as well as a strong academic track to help prepare students for careers in the field.
“We have the most talented kids in the world, and our goal is to educate them as a whole community, not just as students,” Georgia Cyber Director Michael Moore said.
“We want to empower them to be as strong as the next generation of Georgia Tech, and that’s what Georgia Cyber hopes to do.”
Georgia Cyber Academy, which launched its first campus in December, has more than 300 students and is currently working to expand its enrollment to more than 3,000.
Georgia Tech has a long history of investing in and building innovative cyber capabilities.
The school’s cybersecurity program is also known as Georgia Tech Cyber Academy and was one of the first schools in the country to enroll in the National Cybersecurity Academy program.
The school is now in the process of opening a second campus in downtown Atlanta that will provide an entirely new learning experience for its students.
Georgia Tech Cyber’s newest campus is expected to open to students in the fall of 2018.
Image Academy Football is the newest Cyber Academy program to open in Atlanta.
The company, which was founded by former ESPN commentator and Georgia Tech alum Tom Haberstroh, has over 500 students in its Cyber Academy Football program.
Image Academy Football began as a virtual classroom, and now has more students than its virtual predecessor, Image Academy.
Sparrow Academy is the only Cyber Academy in the United States to offer a full-time cyber-related degree program.
The Atlanta-based cyber academy opened in October 2017 and is already seeing tremendous success with its students, who can now take advantage of the school’s online courses, including cybersecurity training, cybersecurity internships, and even a cyber-security internship.
At Georgia Cyber, we believe in creating opportunities for students who have never had the opportunity to participate in Cyber Academy,” Moore said in a statement.
We have a lot of students, and we want to give them an opportunity to get involved with Cyber Academy because they’re going to be the ones who will benefit the most from this opportunity.
This is an incredible opportunity for students in Georgia and the Cyber Academy community to learn from one another and grow as individuals.
