Triangle shooting academy hires coach for new season
NEW HORIZON, Ariz.
— Triangle shooting Academy Director Jason McPherson says the school has hired a new coach and will begin practicing with players in the fall.
The school announced in March that McPhersons team would be undergoing a change of coach as the shooting academy underwent a hiring process, and that he was promoted to director of operations.
In an email to the Crescent Academy’s membership, McPhesons coaching duties will be in conjunction with his new role as an associate director of athletics at the Academy.
McPhersson said he had been considering a coaching change for some time.
“I am excited to return to the triangle as our new coach,” McPersons email read.
“I want to thank the entire Crescent Academy community for their support and encouragement during this difficult time.
I look forward to working with our new coaches as we begin to work towards our ultimate goal of providing our students with a safe and welcoming environment to grow and develop as professionals.
McPhesson said the school is still evaluating the timing of training for the new season.
Triple shooting academy is located in the foothills of the Arizona mountains, and includes a track, a indoor shooting range, an outdoor shooting range and an indoor gymnasium.
The Crescent Academy is one of the nation’s largest and most diverse shooting and sports academies.
It was founded by a group of students in the 1960s and ’70s who saw the benefits of the sport.
While the school still serves a limited number of students, the number of people attending shooting events has increased dramatically in recent years.
Since McPheson was hired, the Crescent academy has received more than 1,100 applications from applicants seeking the position, according to the school’s website.
As of April 28, the academy had a staff of 12.
